A 3-pack of pen nibs from Japanese Tachikawa, perfect to use with one of their pen holders. The school model is, as the name suggests, developed for use in a school environment, and produces thin lines with little flexibility. The school model is therefore an excellent nib for beginners or for those who don't want to be bothered by too much variation in the lines. Also used by artists to draw landscapes or other still objects.
Excellent to use with a dip pen ink.
Instructions: dip the tip in ink, then scrape off excess ink against the mouth of the ink bottle. Feel free to clean after use.
Note that new nibs often are covered with a protective oil, which means that the ink is rejected. They may therefore need to be cleaned before using them for the first time. An easy way to clean them is with a toothbrush and toothpaste, and then just rinse them off in water. It's also possible to use acetone or similar.
