The name of this collection is a combination of two words: VEIL and ILO (color in Japanese). The uniquely marbled body is transparent, allowing the ink and internal components, such as the specially designed converter, to stand out more prominently. Thanks to the manufacturing process, each pen is unique – no two are exactly alike!

Traditionally, pen bodies are shaped and polished by sanding their exterior, but polishing the interior without leaving scratches is a much more difficult craft. Sailor has solved this by using a specially designed blade for lathes, which gently sands and refines the inside. The result is a surface that is perfectly smooth, and a pen that captivates with its beauty – both inside and out.

Sailor Professional Gear Slim is a true classic, known for its world-leading golden pen nib. The Pro Gear Slim model - or Sapporo as it is also called - is Sailor's slightly smaller variant of their Professional Gear, but also perhaps their most popular and affordable fountain pen.
