To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Midori's diaries, a brand new series of Limited Edition books is now being released. This book is bound with Kyo-ori – a freer textile that benefits from the techniques of Nishijin-ori, while being more attuned to today's standards. The fabric is steeped in history and tradition, and handwoven by experienced Kyoto-based craftsmen.
This five year diary from Midori is pretty clever! Each day has its own page – but what make's it clever is that it's divided into five sections. The idea is that you simply, once a year has ended, start from the beginning again by filling in the next section. That way, you can easily see precisely what happened or how you felt exactly one year ago.
The book begins with a prologue structured in the same way (in five sections), where you can, for example, fill in your expectations and hopes for the new year. Each month has a uniquely illustrated tab for easier navigation, as well as a bookmark string. The book consists of Midori's own MD paper, and therefore works really well with fountain pens.
