An A5 grid notebook featuring a warm and playful illustration by Japanese picture-book artist Keiko Shibata. A group of cats have heard someone approaching and are now peering curiously towards the front door – both from the doorway and through the window. Perhaps they want to welcome the visitor, or maybe they are first trying to work out who is outside. The scene was drawn in oil pastel, and the back cover is the same vivid red as the door on the front.
The notebook contains 288 pages of thin and flexible Tomoe River paper with a subtle 3.7 mm grid. The grid colour alternates between red, blue, green and purple every 72 pages, making it easy to divide the notebook into different subjects or projects.
The thread-sewn binding allows the notebook to open completely flat and rest comfortably on a desk. It is the same size as the Hobonichi Cousin and therefore fits Hobonichi A5 covers.
