This ink, produced by Japanese Takeda Jimuki - also known as TAG - is produced in Kyoto. The city has not only given the ink its name, but has also through its historic and beautiful sites inspired the color choices in the Kyo-iro series. The warm brown hue of the Moonlight of Higashiyama is inspired by the historic wooden buildings of the Higashiyama district of Kyoto. Water based.
